The Lessons In Misinterpreting Your Purpose Signs
Friday Jan 27, 2023
Friday Jan 27, 2023
EP298: I believe this episode came from Heaven above because I was so inspired to deliver it. When I sat down with the idea, the words just flowed onto my tablet as I was creating my outline and notes.
I think it's a message every person needs to hear because I've come to realize the big mistakes people are making when trying to find their purpose because I HAVE MADE THEM!
I am the example of what not to do!!! I am the example of taking the long, meandering and misaligned road. But I'm happy to share my mistakes with you in the hopes that you meander less and get straight to doing the work that lights you up most - the work you are meant to do.
I share 3 aspects of purpose and they are all important in understanding how they must be combined to bring you deep purpose:
- your skills
- your gifts
- "bright" work
Tune in to learn how these 3 aspects must work together and how easy it is to misinterpret the signs that are trying to LEAD YOU to your purpose.

The Lessons In Pursuing Your Purpose
Friday Jan 13, 2023
Friday Jan 13, 2023
EP294: I'm especially excited about this episode since I have gained so many lessons about my own personal pursuit of purpose over the past several years and I feel they are valuable to those who may be feeling similar to how I was: passionless, insignificant, and if I'm being completely honest, mediocre.
I start the episode by giving the definitions of passion and purpose, which I googled so you know these are not just my opinion. I share their meaning because I want you to understand how they are different but intertwined.
Then I move on and talk about my beliefs based on my experiences. And just so you know, beliefs are based on perspective so this is MY perspective. And you may disagree but that's ok. Perspective is based on our experiences and there's a wide variety of purpose perspectives.
If you have a different perspective, like maybe you are too old to find new purpose or if you had a purpose, you'd know it by now, I encourage you to be open and hear what I have to say because I not only have my own personal journey in going from passionless to purpose-filled, but I also teach people how to do it, so my perspective does have lots of experience behind it.
In this episode I address one big widespread misconception about purpose. (Hint: it's not a noun!) And I share why that might be the reason you thought you had a purpose but no longer do.
Last but not least, I reveal the 3 most important things that will help you find purpose, and if you don't have them, your purpose may evade you forever. Yikes!
Speaking of purpose, if you'd like to attend my new free training called "The Awakening of the Empty Nester" where I talk about pursuing purpose in your second half, go to https:/www.notyouraveragegrandma.com to register for this 3-part live workshop, or, if we aren't currently enrolling for the workshop, you can join the waitlist and be notified the next time it's held.

What Did Your Ancestors Pass Down To You Besides DNA? with Dr. Lotte Valentin
Tuesday Jan 10, 2023
Tuesday Jan 10, 2023
EP293: In this week’s episode of Living Your Sparked Second Half, Dr. Lotte Valentin comes back on the show to talk about Ancestral Healing.
Dr. Lotte, who is an N.M.D., author, evidential psychic medium, medical medium, ancestral healer and international keynote speaker, first shared her story, in Episode 262, about her 2 near death experiences that helped her realize her psychic abilities and led her to go to law school at the age of 52. And now she’s back to dive deep into a topic she’s an expert in.
In this episode, Dr. Lotte talks about:
- How she started her Ancestral healing practice
- The differences in healing physical, emotional and spiritual body
- Scientific studies on how traumas and positive experiences are inherited by generation
Dr. Lotte shares how the actions, reactions and interactions of our ancestors are passed down and repeated in the generations that follow until it is healed. It’s fascinating stuff!
She is also the creator of Healing Your Ancestral Mother Wound, which she produced in collaboration with Hemi-Sync. Dr. Lotte also leads workshops on Ancestral Healing for The Theosophical Society as well as other organizations and is a regular guest on The Shift Network.
She hopes that the listeners will gain an understanding of how delicately we are intertwined with our ancestors' experiences and behaviors. Tune in to this episode to learn more about the fascinating science behind ancestral healing.

[JFDI #10] Start Your 2023 By Creating A Gwish List!
Saturday Jan 07, 2023
Saturday Jan 07, 2023
EP292: I've invented this thing called a "Gwish" list and it's the first step in my 2023 planning process which I share in this episode.
Gwish is a term meant to imply a combination of goals and wishes because sometimes we get so caught up in the goal-setting process that we don't realize some of our goals aren't aligned or may even conflict with our deep desires.
In my experience, goals are more logic-based and dreams are more heart-based so I've found that this process, as you keep going and adding to the list, culls out more fun and exciting things you want to do that come from the heart instead of the brain. As your Gwish list grows, dreams you may have been suppressing or hadn't thought of until now start to appear.
But the #1 rule is you need to pretend you are limitless, meaning you have no money restrictions, no family obligations, no fear, and all the time in the world. Play with it! Have fun!!!
You'll also learn the other 3 things I did this past week besides my Gwish list as I was looking at what I want to attract into my life this year.
These are all things I teach in the Second Half SPARK School and they work! They are all part of the manifestation process and how to express your desires to the universe. So now JUST go and FRIGGIN' DO IT!!! :)

The Lesson In The 3 Buckets
Friday Dec 30, 2022
Friday Dec 30, 2022
EP290: I saw a great self-evaluation exercise shared by Jonathan Fields, founder of the Good Life Project, that I share in this episode. I thought it was a great lesson to end 2022 with!
The exercise involves evaluating yourself in the following 3 separate categories, or "buckets" as Jonathan refers to them:
- Vitality
- Connection
- Contribution
Listen in as I explain what to look for when evaluating how full each bucket is for you. Make sure to grab a notepad and take notes so you capture all of the traits of each bucket in your evaluation process.
Once you finish listening to the episode, rank each bucket on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the least satisfied and 10 being the most satisfied and 5 being neutral.
After you're done, look at your rankings and think about what improvements you want make in these areas in 2023. I recommend you focus on increasing your satisfaction for the buckets where your satisfaction is lowest.
Then in a few weeks, re-evaluate to see if your rankings have improved, and keep evaluating every so often to ensure your vitality, connection, and contribution buckets are as full in your life as possible.

Helping the Invisible Sufferers Become Visible, with Nick Demos
Tuesday Dec 27, 2022
Tuesday Dec 27, 2022
EP289: For this week’s episode, I brought back Nick Demos, who I first interviewed back in May of 2020, to share a new documentary he produced and directed called, “Invisible: The Film”. This documentary is the first comprehensive feature documentary that tells the often ignored stories of people living with the devastating syndrome Fibromyalgia that many still don’t believe exists.
In this episode, Nick and I talked about:
- How the documentary came about and what the film’s name has to do with the topic of Fibromyalgia.
- The many things both he and I learned about the disease - me from watching it and he from making it.
- The unexpected news he got during the filming.
- Various lifestyle changes that are believed to help minimize the symptoms of Fibromyalgia.
One of the patients highlighted in the film is Nick’s mom who has suffered from Fibromyalgia for 10+ years. While making the film he was able to better understand her struggle with the syndrome and learn a lot about the frustrations that come with it, like limited medical support - largely resulting from a lack of understanding by most doctors - and a lack of insurance coverage for necessary medications and treatment.
Nick hopes that this film will enlighten those who watch it and help those who are suffering from Fibromyalgia find hope and relief with some of the approaches and treatments discussed.
Tune into this episode AND the film to learn more about Fibromyalgia and why it’s referred to as invisible.
