She shares this profound experience, revealing the pivotal moments that ignited her decision to traverse this spiritual pilgrimage and the transformative insights she learned along the way.
In this episode, we talk about:

When Losing Your Vision, Helps You See Better, with Laura Alden Kamm
Wednesday Nov 22, 2023
Wednesday Nov 22, 2023
EP380: Today’s guest is Laura Alden Kamm, a beacon of resilience and a testament to the power of intuition in navigating life's challenges. You’ll hear Laura’s journey, which is nothing short of extraordinary, as she shares how she died and watched the scene unfold outside of her body, then was sent back to the world of the living. Yep! And she shares how she woke up partially blind, but as she explains, she sees so much more than she had previously!!!
At 26, Laura's life took an unexpected turn with a sudden illness that almost took her life and left her, a mom of three young children, partially blind. After her near-death experience, she awoke to undergo a grueling 10-hour brain surgery, from which she emerged with a renewed sense of being here for a purpose and an unwavering commitment to life's miracles.
In this episode, we talk about:
- Laura's near-death encounter and subsequent brain surgery, how that transformed her perspective on life, and ultimately led to her innate gift as a medical intuitive.
- Laura’s courageous decision to leave a stifling marriage that led her to unlock a world of possibilities as she came into alignment with her true self.
- How adversity and pivotal choices can lead to explosive personal growth and the revelation of unrealized gifts.
- Laura’s insights on intuition: understanding it’s more than just a hunch and how you need to be brave enough to let it guide you.
Although Laura's life took a few detours before she uncovered her true purpose and gift as a medical intuitive, her journey is a testament to the significance of following one's authentic path.
Laura’s passion for writing, teaching, and speaking about the profound wisdom within us all has touched lives across 140+ countries for over four decades. She has graced stages alongside luminaries like Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor, Deepak Chopra, and Dr. Wayne Dyer, sharing insights about our inner power and unique intuitive capabilities.
Throughout our conversation, Laura illuminated the true essence of intuition, emphasizing that it's more than mere instinct—it's a bridge connecting the depth of our being to the practicalities of existence. Her journey exemplifies the profound impact of listening to our inner wisdom, finding joy, serving others, and fulfilling our life's purpose.

1958 vs. 2023: Fascinating Stats for Baby Boomers!
Wednesday Nov 15, 2023
Wednesday Nov 15, 2023
EP379: Do you think life is better or worse for a 65-year-old than it was in 1958? And have you ever seen statistics to back up that opinion?
Well, I am excited to tell you that I came across a fascinating article I just had to share with you, and that's what this week's episode is all about. I'm sharing real data that shows how life today is different from our grandparents.
Wonder what the median house price was then compared to now and what it would be if only inflation was a factor? Curious about where most of the 65+ population lived in 1958 compared to now? (This was a surprise!)
Want to know who is turning 65 this year? (WHAT?! How is that possible?)
Would you like to know how our spirituality, beliefs about personal rights, and trust in government has shifted? (This probably won't be a surprise to you...)
How about what we died of then compared to today? (This one is interesting!)
Some of these facts may surprise you, especially when you hear about the one thing we use almost daily that did not exist in 1958. (It's shocking to know when this arrived on the scene and how it's impacted the life of today's aging population!)
It certainly was fun for me to learn these things, and now that you know them too, you have something interesting to talk about with your kids and grandkids at Thanksgiving dinner!
If you'd like to hear more of this type of episode, let me know. And don't forget to leave a review and subscribe to (or follow) the podcast (if you haven't already) because this helps spread the word to other baby boomers about this podcast.

Halloween’s Over But Are You Still Wearing a Mask?
Wednesday Nov 01, 2023
Wednesday Nov 01, 2023
EP376: As I've become more fascinated with how the brain works and what makes people do the things they do that continue to keep them stuck and unhappy, I've come across a shocking statistic:
98% of the Earth's population is not self-actualized, which means that only 2% of people are living authentic to who they truly are! This is according to Abraham Maslow, who is one of the founders of humanistic psychology and the famous hierarchy of needs.
And the worst part is they don't even know it!!!
A good analogy I've found to explain what it's like when someone is not living from their most authentic version is that they are wearing a mask.
Makes sense, right?
On Halloween we don costumes to be a certain character for fun yet we don't even realize that we could be doing that all of the other 364 days in the year too! Isn't this a perfect topic for this Halloween week?!
So listen in and hear what behaviors and ways of being might be indicators that you could still be wearing a mask, even though Halloween is over.
I also give specific examples of my past I now know were choices I made that were completely inauthentic to who I am at my core, and then I share 6 steps you can take to help you discover your true self.
My mission in the time I have left is to help drive this awareness to the 98% and help them understand it is ok to off their masks because life is a whole heckuva lot better when you can truly be who you are meant to be!

From The End of Her Rope to Making Bold Moves in 3 Months, with Laura Volz
Monday Oct 23, 2023
Monday Oct 23, 2023
EP373: Today I have a special guest who agreed to come on the podcast to share the incredible journey she’s had since she signed up for a free training workshop I did earlier this year. Meet Laura Volz, who after that workshop made, what she calls, the very “scary” decision to join the Second Half SPARK School and go deep in the self-exploration, subconscious brain rewiring, and vision-setting work we do there.
That decision has changed the trajectory of her life in ways she could not have even imagined back at the beginning of 2023. In fact, she wrote me an email in just 3 months after she joined and here’s an excerpt:
“When I watched your free workshops on Facebook, I was at the end of my rope. I felt like you were talking directly to me. I knew there had to be more for me. But What?? How do I find it?? How do I know??
I decided to sign up for your Sparked Second Half School. I don't usually do this kind of thing. I didn't know what to expect and It was very scary. I decided that as frightened as I was, of the unknown, I was more afraid of not knowing. I have been treading water in life for a very long time and I am tired.”
I’m so happy she got to the point where she finally took action and that working with me in the Second Half SPARK School was exactly what she needed. What she realized very quickly is that she was not living the life she wanted and that was no longer acceptable. And wow, did she ever take big bold action!
In this episode, Laura talks about:
- Her lifelong fear of speaking up and how she learned that, as a people pleaser, she had always put everyone else’s priorities ahead of hers.
- How much she hated her job, knowing she could retire, but afraid to let go of that secure income.
- How the decisions she’s made have impacted her relationship with her husband.
- The incredibly courageous and BOLD big moves she’s made in a very short time that the old Laura would have never been brave enough to make!
Our conversation is proof that the unknown future that lies ahead for each of us is one we have the power to create. And that unknown, but better-than-we-can-imagine, future can begin today with one simple action.
Let Laura’s story inspire give you hope that you too can gain the knowledge (and courage) you need in an incredibly short period of time and move very quickly into the better life you long for.
If Laura’s story resonates and you are ready to stop accepting the life that isn’t making you happy, then the Second Half SPARK School is open for a very short time this week. (10/23/23 - 10/26/23) Just think what is possible for you in just 3 months…
And the best part? Whatever it is you might think is possible, is just the tip of the surface! Laura is just another example of the many students who have joined the school and had amazing transformations. And what they all had in common is that they didn’t think it was possible until it was!!!

EP372: Today’s guest, Penny Richardson, one of my Second Half SPARK School students, is a great example of how you can drastically change your life no matter how old you are. She shares her transformative journey towards self-discovery and growth and opens up about the pivotal realization that she was hindering her own progress and blaming external factors for her lack of action.
She also reflected on her tendencies to seek validation from others and discussed the moment she recognized the importance of prioritizing her relationship with herself and her faith.
In this episode, Penny shares:
- The pivotal moment where she realized she was holding herself back and blaming external factors for her inaction.
- How she discovered the ability to change her negative mindset into a positive, empowering one, and the impact that had on her actions and lifestyle.
- Her breakthroughs from what she learned in the Second Half SPARK School
- How the changes within her influenced her relationships, especially with her husband, showing that changing oneself can ripple outward and affect others
Penny's journey exemplifies the tremendous impact of how shifting one's mindset and thoughts to break free from self-imposed limitations, and embracing personal growth can make a positive difference in both personal and collective lives.
Her story serves as an inspiration for anyone seeking transformation and the courage to follow their authentic path towards a more happy and fulfilling life.
