Activating Abundance [#18] With Downtime & Being Present
Friday Aug 06, 2021
Friday Aug 06, 2021
EP138: In this episode I talk about my recent time off to be with my kids and grandkids and the abundance I found by unplugging and being present.
As a person who loves her work and tends to be a bit obsessed about it (as my husband will confirm!), it's hard to put away my computer for days at a time, but I was super successful at doing that and it was AWESOME!!! I highly recommend it!
And the best part is that I think they want to come back. It's always the best complement when your guests, no matter how big or small, have such a good time they want to return.

EP137: My guest this week, Julie Lamm, is a Core Exercise Specialist, a 500 hour Yoga Teacher, and a Strength Coach for women over 50. She works with motivated women who used to be active or want to maintain their active lifestyle in their 50s and beyond.
Coach Jewels, the name she goes by, loves taking women on a journey of connecting with their body, feeling more confident through strength training, mindset and stress-management. And she has a unique speciality helping women who suffer from pelvic pain and/or bladder leakage by teaching them the proper exercises that will address the root of the problem. She believes that every woman is unique and benefits from a uniquely customized plan, and she supports that plan by teaching her clients the foundational principles of movement and strength progression using her A, B, C & F (Alignment, Breath, Core & Feet) framework.
Coach Jewels believes that we should be the CEOs of our own health and that comes with responsibilities, and she thinks it is never too late to have a maintenance plan with some professional guidance to help you feel strong, able and well so you can participate in all the activities that you want to do beyond 50.
She also shares how she ended up coming to the United States when she barely knew the language, and yes, it involves love. I’m sure her story will inspire you in many ways.

Life Lessons From A Former Sex Addict, Brianne Davis
Monday Jul 26, 2021
Monday Jul 26, 2021
EP136: My guest today is Brianne Davis, an actress, writer, director, producer, wife to Mark Gantt, and mom to son Davis.
Her acting credits include; LUCIFER, CASUAL TRUE BLOOD, the History Channel’s series SIX, and the film JARHEAD, opposite Jake Gyllenhaal. She has directed and produced two feature films, THE NIGHT VISITOR 2: HEATHER’S STORY and DEADLY SIGNAL.
But in this interview, we focus mostly on Brianne’s former life as a sex and love addict and what she’s learned in the past decade of her recovery.
Inspired by this life experience, she hosts the popular personal journals podcast SECRET LIFE. Brianne recently wrote and published the best-selling novel, SECRET LIFE OF A HOLLYWOOD SEX & LOVE ADDICT. She is currently developing it as a tv series.
Originally from Atlanta, Brianne moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career and landed her first lead role in 2005 with the blockbuster hit “Jarhead,” opposite Jake Gyllenhaal.
I appreciate Brianne’s frank honesty and vulnerability in this interview, as she openly shares her life as a sex and love addict, and how she now uses her experience to help others and make a difference in the world.
Brianne is a strong believer that self love is critical to happiness.. Along the way she learned that no person, place or thing will fill you and give you your worth. No soulmate is coming to rescue you. You have to give yourself your worth. You are your own soulmate.
Her life journey will surely inspire you to realize that no matter what your past, you can turn your life around and do something of significance using the life lessons you’ve learned along the way.

Activating Abundance [#17] By Reframing Death
Friday Jul 23, 2021
Friday Jul 23, 2021
EP135: This episode was inspired by a friend's memorial service that I attended this past weekend and the insights I received as I looked for abundance in his passing.
I share the book he lived by and the powerful "paddle out" ceremony that I got to witness, as well as a few of my beliefs about death and some resources that have helped me get over my fear of death and see it in a totally different light than I used to.
Books I referred to in the episode are:

"Journal of Souls: Case Studies of Life Between Lives" by Michael Newton: https://amzn.to/3x6mjb2

Making Life Easier For the Tech-Challenged Entrepreneur with Deanna Fenton
Monday Jul 19, 2021
Monday Jul 19, 2021
EP134: If you are someone who thinks tech is a huge barrier, my guest will make you change your perspective! Deanna Fenton is the techie in your pocket who loves nothing more than to help online course or membership site creators kick tech overwhelm to the curb! She has worked as a WordPress website developer and had a marketing agency since 2006. Deanna has the philosophy of staying young at heart and mind through lifelong learning.
Deanna had her marketing agency since 2006 and was tired and burned out. Learning about Kajabi in late 2015 and deciding she wanted to create digital products and teach people how to create their own websites and how to build, market, launch and scale online businesses without tech overwhelm sparked her passion for all things technology!
What she’s most excited about is her membership with a mostly over 50 crowd on how to build their businesses. She has one member who is almost 80 years old and her get-it-done attitude always inspires her!
Listen to Deanna’s career and love for technology, the risks she took and setbacks she experienced that taught her to master technology which sparked her passion to help other midlife women overcome the barrier of technology!
She hopes to inspire other people to believe that change is a scary thing at any age. She says: "Too often we feel as though we've been doing something so long we CAN'T change." Making the decision to walk away led her to her membership which is, so far, the highlight of her working life.

Activating Abundance [#16] By Not Saying Don’t!
Friday Jul 16, 2021
Friday Jul 16, 2021
EP133: This episode was inspired, as you'll learn, by a day spent with a bunch of little people and an incident I witnessed that was a perfect example of one of the rules of the subconscious mind.
I knew about this rule and I explain it to my students, but I never really thought about its impact on the words we say to our kids (and grandkids) when we play the role of protector. It was a real AHA moment for me.
First of all, I love being around my grandchildren! And this past weekend was the 3rd birthday of one of my grandsons so I got to meet and spend time with some of his little friends.
I always feel so abundant when I am in the presence of my grandchildren, and this week as I was reflecting on that day, it dawned on me that I feel that way because children are pure abundance...
The majority of kids see the world as limitless and full of opportunity before the world gets a hold of their brain and programs it with limiting beliefs. In fact, it made me so happy to just sit back and watch 2 one year olds walking around my daughter's deck like drunk sailors, with the biggest smiles pasted on their faces the entire afternoon.
They were pure joy, love and goodness. It was just oozing out of them.
So while the incident I share in this episode was so funny I almost peed in my pants - and I am still laughing when I replay it in my mind - it was a PERFECT example of one of the rules of the subconscious mind that I was reminded of this past week in a manifestation course I'm taking.
It was a huge AHA moment for me and because of that, I wanted to share it with you.
Rule #5 of the Subconscious Mind: The subconsious mind does not process negatives
To hear more about this rule and how I watched it play out in real life, listen in to the episode.
Once you are done, take inspired action this week by observing how often you are using negatives in your words and thoughts. Then replace those negatives in a way that, instead of removing the behavior or habit you want to change, you focus on the outcome you desire.

Activating Abundance [#15] When Plan A Is Derailed
Friday Jul 09, 2021
Friday Jul 09, 2021
EP131: Today I talk about the importance of "redeeming the day" with simple pleasures when your plan goes by the wayside.
An excerpt from the "Simple Abundance" book inspired me to look at how a recent day of mine, that was not going well, caused me to derail my Plan A to improve my mood. Even though my day was not derailed by someone else, like the example she shared that happened to her, I had the same experience of needing to alter my plan and redeem my day.
So I found the parallels with her experience and mine and shared them in this episode.
I created a Plan B, as she suggests, and switched my focus to the present moment instead of the future - which is what my Plan A was all about - and that improved my mood and got me back to my happy place.
So how are you going to react the next time your Plan A is derailed? Or maybe you'll find, as I did, that your Plan A is derailing you and leaving you in a less-than-happy (and abundant) state. What actions will you take to get present and redeem your day?

EP130: Debbie Sassen is a Business and Money Mindset Coach and former Financial Planner. She helps midlife women in business to make more money and grow wealth, without burnout and sacrificing their family. Her coaching gracefully combines business strategy, money management with mindset work to help women dissolve the family of origin money story and limiting beliefs that keep them stuck in a cycle of under-earning, overspending, and under-saving.
Too many women feel belittled and diminished by professionals in the financial industry. Debbie believes it's time to change that narrative. No woman should have to dim her light and brilliance to build a solid financial reality for herself and her family - now and in the future! She believes that when we own our wealth and take responsibility for it, we give other people permission to shine their brilliance brightly, too.
In this episode, we not only talk about Debbie’s career as a money mindset coach, but also about her life experiences being a mom of 8 (Yes! EIGHT kids) and a wife -- and the wake-up call that came when her husband was diagnosed with cancer and she had to take stock of her own money management issues, while also working a full time job, running the household running, and nursing an infant.
These experiences led her to a shocking realization—despite all her experience and intelligence— her money was in disarray—and she was determined to change that story.
Her first step was looking—really looking—at their finances and my mindset. And now, she helps other women do that too! Her past led her to her purpose!
Tune in to this episode as Debbie gives some important financial advice that would be helpful for you if you are also looking to better manage your finances.

Activating Abundance [#14] With The Boomerang Effect
Friday Jul 02, 2021
Friday Jul 02, 2021
EP129: Today I share an example of how quickly the gift of abundance is returned when you are on the giving end.
Yesterday I stepped into the abundance of TIME and gifted my husband with some of mine, which I don't do enough of - especially in the middle of my very busy work day.
But I had a spontaneous urge to ride with him to a property to pick up one of his real estate signs. Nothing romantic or exciting, just placing my time and attention on him by being his company and doing the driving so he didn't have to.
I decided to make a quick stop on our way back at a cute little country store I love and hadn't visited since before the pandemic. (I promise, it was not a part of my plan until we were almost to our destination!) And what I got from that very quick visit not only made my day but provided me with this valuable lesson to share with you!
I desired a zucchini and one was handed over as a gift! Yep! A store GAVE ME an item and didn't charge me!!! When was the last time that happened for you?!?!
That is pure abundance in action!!!
I was abundant with my time and I was rewarded with a delicious zucchini!
If I had not been abundant with my time, I would have had to go to the store later, which would have taken MORE time out of my day, and I would have missed this valuable lesson of operating from a state of abundance can do...
So... given that you will likely be rewarded, because the universe loves on us when we're abundant, what kind gesture will you do for someone else today without any expectation, but with a deep and confident knowing, that it will be returned in some way, shape or form?
